PRO’S

Jayden Reed is a former 3 star recruit who believed in himself and worked his tail off to become a star at Michigan St. Great field vision, can see cutback lanes and has the stop/start ability to utilize them. Very solid build, coming in at 5 ’10”, 191 Lbs., his weight pairs well with his burst and makes him a bit of a load for defenders to bring down once he gets going. Reed can be an offensive weapon and a special teams weapon as he’s shown at MSU.

CON’S

A little unrefined when braking on hard cutting routes, loses a bit more speed than I’d like to see. He’s capable of snappy routes, I just need to see it more consistently. I don’t see elite level quick twitch when working in the short/intermediate area of the field and I don’t see top end speed that can consistently threaten defenders.

OVERALL

Reed started his college career at Western Michigan where he finished his Freshman season as a Freshman All-American. Eventually Reed transferred to Michigan St. where he earned reps as soon as he was eligible to play. Jayden Reed’s explosiveness and ability to create separation stood out at the 2023 Reese’s Senior bowl. If Reed had come out after his Junior season I believe he could have crept into the early 2nd round conversation but he stayed and Michigan St. as a whole took a step back. Nevertheless, his proven ability as a stud punt returner will also add to his value in the 2023 draft.
