PRO’S
Gervon Dexter Sr. (who recently became a father in 2022) is very large for his position and holds an NFL ready frame. Has massive hands and long arms and when he wants to move you, you will move as he possesses great strength for his size. He has the ability to make sudden moves to blow by you before you realize what even happened. Can switch techniques which he uses mid-rep and does it smoothly.
CON’S
He can be slow getting off the ball. Dexter doesn’t have a go-to move that he can depend on. Also plays really high once the ball is snapped and can get sucked into blocks rather easily because of it. Struggles to fight off double teams. Let’s opponent’s play determine what he does. The biggest knock against Gervon is that it looks like he takes plays off so you have to question his motor/drive.
OVERALL
After a solid combine I’m excited to see if Dexter can continue to improve on his numbers at his pro day. He didn’t live up to the high expectations put on him at the beginning of the ‘22 campaign, but this showing at the combine shows why they were there though. I believe that Dexter has the potential to be a top to mid second round pick in this year’s draft based on raw skills but where he goes after that really depends on his mindset.
