PRO’S

Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson is a versatile, twitchy, high football IQ’d defensive back (:11 left in the 1st qtr vs OK State, THT is at the top of the screen in man coverage. He is 2 yds off the WR at the LOS. The WR beats THT at the snap with an inside jab step and gets on top of him. THT is trailing until the WR cuts inside for the ball and THT is able to surge in front to deflect the ball). He is very versatile for a small DB as he has played outside corner and some slot work but also had over 100 snaps in the box. THT is a good tackler who wraps well and drives to the ground. THT had over 20 run stops with only a 3.3% missed tackle rate and a 20% tackle increase from ‘21. THT is physical at the LOS and has that pitbull mindset. He is also an ironman at DB with over 2500 collegiate snaps and a career 56.3 QBR. Don’t let THT get the ball in his hands as he is a natural playmaker and change sides of the field quickly (12:20 left in the 2nd qtr vs Texas, THT is lined up to the bottom of the screen in man coverage vs WR Xavier Worthy. Worthy runs upfield 25 yds then starts to work inside the hash towards the middle of the field. Ewers lets it rip and THT is in stride and perfectly undercuts Worthy for the INT).

CON’S

THT has that dawg mentality and sometimes can play too physical and over commit. Although he took most of his snaps as an outside DB, GMs in the NFL will question if he can hang outside in the NFL at 5’8. He has a smooth back pedal but sometimes THT will tend to be upright which slows him down in and out of transitions. He will need to work on getting ‘flagged’ as he was penalized over 10 times.

OVERALL

Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson is much more physical than any other DB his size in this draft. He has no problem attacking in the run game and has top notch technique. He should be a mid to late draft pick and will be a steal for a team that doesn’t let the height cloud the tape! Player Comp: Alterraun Verner
