PRO’S

High Motor, active player. Disciplined, do not see him over pursuing or putting himself out of position when tracking the ball carrier. Cerebral player, always aware of his responsibility and doesn’t pull the trigger to attack down hill until he feels time is right (this is a positive for zone coverage). His 2022 tackle grade of 79 is 14th in the nation amongst returning LBs (per PFF).

CON’S

Gets overpowered at times when trying to set the edge against the run. Was targeted 22 times in the passing game and gave up 18 receptions (per PFF). I don’t always see his lateral speed show up on film. Better in space than he is in clutter, tends to get washed out by bigger/more physical players when taking too long to read what’s happening in front of him.

OVERALL

Prior to the start of the 2023 season, Wilson was ranked 27th on Bruce Feldman’s freak list for benching 390, clocking a 4.49 40 & posting a 35.5” vert. Per GoPack.Com, during the 2020 season Wilson led the ACC in tackles per game with 10.8 & was a first-team All-ACC performer on both the AP and the official league teams. 2023 will be big for Wilson, can he stay healthy? Can he produce like he did during the 2020 and 2022 seasons? We’ll see!
