PRO’S

Versatility, lines up in the nickel, outside, in the box, and as a deep safety, added a punt return TD in 2022. He’s not the biggest guy on the field but his lack of size does not prevent him from initiating contact and playing physical. Big hit on Hendon Hooker (2021) when coming off of zone coverage and crashing on QB out of pocket. Intelligent player, adapted to the college game quickly as a true freshman in 2020. Twitchy player with quick feet, good hips and explosive burst. Open field tackling technique is sound, hit and wrap.

CON’S

Missed time for a back injury in 2020 and didn’t seem to be back to his freshman year form in his sophomore campaign. Due to his size, he is at a disadvantage when trying to make a play inside the tackles or in coverage against bigger, more physical wide receivers. Will get handsy with WRs out of their breaks, needs to become more confident in his technique.

OVERALL

Moore started for Alabama as a freshman, which is no small task. In Moore’s freshman season I saw shades of freshman Jalen Ramsey and Tyrann Mathieu. In his sophomore season he did not look quite like the player I was expecting to see, and took a step in the right direction in 2022. With Brian Branch gone, there will be more opportunities for Moore to shine in 2023. If Moore can capitalize on the additional playing time and get back to the high level of play he showed early on in his career, he could be a big name to watch come Draft Night 2024.
