PRO’S

Undersized LB who carries himself like a traditional, big bodied thumper. Henley is a bullet when blitzing, providing speed, burst and impact. Henley is very good at discarding potential blockers while approaching the ball carrier, sheds the blocks and quickly gets to the ball carrier. Daiyan plays with a high motor, even when over committed or away from the play he continues to pursue with urgency. Henley’s agility, straight line speed and experience as a wide receiver make for a great nickel/coverage linebacker in today’s NFL.

CON’S

Light/Lean lower half. Undersized and will struggle when lining up in the middle of the defense against a power run game. Henley is 23, played 5 years of college ball and doesn’t have much experience as a linebacker(converted from WR to LB in 2020). When in zone coverage, Henley will sit while he is reading/processing the offense rather than staying active and on his toes, putting him at a disadvantage when having to turn and run.

OVERALL

23 year old rookie, arrived at college as a wide receiver before switching to linebacker his junior season. Henley was utilized as a true mike and as an overhang on the outside of the defense. When at overhang, Henley showcased his ability to move in space as coverage linebacker as well as his ability to react and attack down hill, outside in. Henley has the athleticism to be a big factor on passing downs but needs to work on staying active in his drops and being more aware of the threats to his zone, room for development here. Henley is better at man than zone coverage at this stage but I believe he will take big steps as he continues his development.
