PROS
Tank runs well between the tackles, is quick and decisive, willing to take on contact, and gets small through creases. He is undersized for what Auburn asks him to do (be a downhill bruiser) but he does not shy away from the role. Tank succeeds in this downhill role when he has the angle on defenders and is able to deflect them rather than square them up and run them over or make them miss. Bigsby stays behind his pads and runs hard. Good patience and vision to see crease as it develops, good burst through. Great hands with a defender draped all over him up the sideline vs. Alabama (2021), stays focused on the ball and plucks it out of the air.
CONS
Though he is elusive and physical, he struggles to get off of contact below the waist. Not a twitchy player, employs a jump cut but not much wiggle. Tank will be dependent on the running scheme and strength of the offensive line. He does not have the quickness to get away from clutter once he’s committed. Fast but does not have home run speed, lacks the top end speed needed to get to the edge consistently or to leave defenders in his wake when he’s in the open field.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
Where he is at his best is running between the tackles, finding a crease, taking one cut, and exploding through. Used like a bruiser but does not have the size to push the pile in the interior of the line. Coaches and teammates will love his toughness. I think he will be successful at the next level but that success will be capped by where he is drafted. If Tank lands in a strong rushing attack like that of the Cowboys or 49ers, he could be one of the most productive backs in this class.
