Welcome to the week 10 edition of Easy Like Thursday Night!!! This week we have the Atlanta Falcons (4-5) visiting the Carolina Panthers (2-7). Despite the 4-5 record Atlanta is battling it out with the Bucs right now for first place in the NFC South. Carolina, despite recently trading away both Christian McCaffrey and Robbie Anderson were playing close games prior to last week’s 42-21 blowout to Cincinnati.
From a fantasy perspective and more specifically single game DFS perspective we are dealing with 2 tricky teams. Through 9 weeks Atlanta has proven to have one of the best running games in the NFL between the return of Cordelle Patterson and the emergency of rookie Tyler Allgeier. Their passing game however has been a disappointment as both Kyle Pitts and Drake London have had disappointing seasons. Marcus Mariota has played well enough to lead them to a 4-5 record, however, it has not translated much fantasy wise. Mariota has 2 games over 20 points this year, however, both of those games included a rushing touchdown by the QB.
Carolina has the same story… Even with the trade of CMC they have seen success in their run game with the duel of D’Onta Foreman and Chubba Hubbard. Their passing game, however, has not shared in the same success and hit rock bottom last week with both PJ Walker and Baker Mayfield’s performance. They have confirmed they are going with Walker for this week 10 game so buyer beware when it comes to Carolina receivers.
Getting to the Draft Kings Thursday Night Single Game contest the question is who do we trust the most to deliver a touchdown between these 2 teams?? Despite him just returning from injury last week the answer is clearly Cordelle Patterson so he will anchor our line up in the Captain spot. Atlanta has proven to have enough touches for both Patterson and Allgeier so when it comes down to it I will take Allgeier and his double digit touches over the risk of London or Pitts. From a Carolina perspective after last week’s performance there isn’t much fantasy trust to go around… That being said I believe D’Onta Foreman has the best chance for pay dirt Thursday night so he is in our line up. Due to how bad Carolina’s offense looked last week I am going to start the Atlanta defense which has been respectable most games this year. It’s going to be ugly but there will be fantasy points to be had… Let’s go HAD them!!!!! Good luck to all in week 10!!! LFG!!!
