Dudes & Duds – Week 16

DUDES

QB – Josh Allen @ LA Chargers

  • Great weather, prime time (Saturday night) & coming off of a poor statistical performance. These 3 factors as well as the fact that the Chargers are both horrendous as a team and horrendous against opposing QBs makes me feel confident Allen will ball.

QB – Dak Prescott @ Miami Dolphins

  • The Cowboys offense looked abysmal against the Bills in week 15 & they need to bounce back quickly to avoid being embarrassed by the Dolphins and their high flying offense. The Dolphins are towards the bottom of the league in points allowed to opposing QBs and I expect Dak to be throwing early and often.

RB – Raheem Mostert vs. Dallas Cowboys

  • I mean, did you see what James Cook was able to do to this Cowboys defense in week 15? I am undoubtedly starting Raheem Mostert in every single league I have an opportunity to.

RB – James Conner @ Chicago Bears

  • Conner’s 15.9 points per game over the last 4 weeks is good for 13th amongst all RBs in that time span. These aren’t incredible numbers but they are steady and strong. I’m very confident in starting Conner against a Bears defense that has allowed the 11th most points to opposing RBs this season.

WR – Rashee Rice vs. Las Vegas Raiders

  • Rice has been on fire, picking up steam at exactly the right time for those who’ve rostered him this season. Rice’s 81.4 points over the last 4 weeks is the 3rd most amongst all WRs. Mahomes needs someone to rely on outside of Travis Kelce, and it has become Mr. Rice.

WR – Puka Nacua vs. New Orleans Saints

  • Nacua has been rather quiet by his standards over the last 4 weeks, only topping 10 total points twice. Kupp on the other hand has been taking off. The Saints have played opposing WR1s very well this season & I think Kupp will be treated as such. In turn, look for Nacua to have room to get open and expect Stafford to target him.

TE – Trey McBride @ Chicago Bears

  • Trey McBride is a stud & is another player I’ll be starting anywhere I can this week. Since week 10, McBride’s average of 17 points per game is nearly 2 points more than the next closest TE (Sam Laporta). The Bears have let up the 3rd most points to opposing TEs this season and I think McBride will continue to feast.

DUDS

QB – Jordan Love @ Carolina Panthers

  • I think Jordan Love is going to be fine and his arrow will continue to trend upward but he is in no way match-up proof. We’ve seen quite a few ups and downs this season & I look for another down performance against a Panthers defense that’s allowed the 3rd fewest points to opposing QBs this season.

QB – Brock Purdy vs. Baltimore Ravens

  • The Baltimore Ravens are the best team in the league defending the pass, allowing a league lowest 12 points per game to opposing QBs. I think this match-up will be a lot of fun to watch but it will be a low scoring defensive struggle. I’m sitting Purdy.

RB – Saquon Barkley @ Philadelphia Eagles

  • Saquon Barkley is RB26 over the last 4 weeks and he’ll be heading to Philadelphia to face a pissed off Eagles defense. Not only is this defense pissed off, they’re certified game wreckers when it comes to stopping the run. Barkley will be eliminated.

RB – Indianapolis Colts RBs @ Atlanta Falcons

  • Moss is banged up, JT may be returning from being banged up, there’s a lot up in the air as of this Tuesday evening. One thing that is certain is that the Falcons have been great against the run, allowing the 4th fewest points to opposing RBs this season.

WR – Cooper Kupp vs. New Orleans Saints

  • I said it above in my list of dudes for the week, the Saints have played opposing WR 1s very well this season & I think this week will be a Puka week and not a Cooper week.

WR – Garrett Wilson vs. Washington Commanders

  • This one is tough because the player is so damn talented. Due to the volatility of the Jets QB position and the peaks and valleys we’ve seen from GW so far this season, I just don’t have the confidence to start Wilson in such a pivotal week of the season.

TE – Cole Kmet vs. Arizona Cardinals

  • Cole Kmet is currently TE 7 on the season but has seen his production drop off since Week 10. This week, Kmet will have a tough match-up against the Arizona Cardinals who have allowed the 3rd fewest points to opposing Tight Ends this season.
