PRO’S

Quick, fast, powerful and explosive. Great stop/start ability. He’s fast enough to get to the edge and powerful enough to get those tough yards in the interior of the defense. Deploys a strong stiff arm when he has an angle on the defender. Uses sharp cuts in the open field to explode away from defenders and towards the open field. Runs compact, gets small/lower to the ground at the contact point and generates force to burst through defenders. Great hands, knows how to extend for the football without losing forward momentum so that he gains yards after catch.

CON’S

It’s hard to find many cons with Robinson. At times he’s a little sloppy at the mesh point on play action/RPOs and I’ve seen instances where the quarterback was looking for him on one side and he was on the other, there’s a possibility this is more on the QB than Robinson but hard to tell from the tape. Saw Robinson take a step forward in his pass protection from 2021 to 2022 but still could use some development. At times his forward tilt as well as his eagerness to hit the hole do him a disservice, I would like to see him get a little more patient on some of his inside runs.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

Robinson is a shifty back who has a belt full of tools that he can utilize at any moment to get the job done. He’s very shifty and does a great job of anticipating defenders and avoiding contact. Compared to the 2023 backs I have watched to this point and the backs I watched in 2022, Bijan is on an entirely different level above them all. He reminds me a bit of Ladanian Tomlinson, though not yet the pass catcher Tomlinson was at his peak. That being said, he has flashed great receiving instincts and that paired with his elite quickness and ability to make defenders miss in the open field makes me believe he will get there.
