Ideal World: The best landing spots for the 2024 WR class (NFC edition)
The 2024 WR class is projected to be one of the best we have had, talent is abundant. Our rookie drafts are going to be a celebration, that is how excited I am for this class. The purpose of this article is to try to pair WR needy teams in the NFC with a WR that could make an impact on your dynasty rosters. Let’s have some fun.
Marvin Harrison Jr. (Arizona Cardinals)
This is probably the biggest no brainer in the draft when it comes to the WR needy teams. The Cards have a top 4 pick and have a chance to get Kyler Murray and this offense rolling again by selecting a generational prospect in Harrison Jr. MHJ is as complete as they come for a WR about to enter the league, a real smooth operator. In this offense, he could easily be a top 6 dynasty WR.
Rome Odunze (NY Giants)
At 1st glance this certainly doesn’t feel like a good scenario for Rome and his dynasty value. Things don’t look pretty in East Rutherford NJ, questions around Daniel Jones, Saquon on his way out and a WR room that is completely wide open. If Odunze puts on a Giants uniform, he would instantly be the best player on offense player on that team and brings a different dimension that they need at the position. Odunze could still be a major fantasy contributor even in this situation, that is how good I believe he is.
Troy Franklin (Green Bay Packers)
In recent mocks, Troy Franklin has been slipping into the 2nd round of the NFL draft, so it could be possible the Packers draft a WR there for the 3rd year in a row. Franklin brings 4.41 speed and the ability to stretch the field, something this offense has been missing with Christian Watson in and out of the lineup. This is an offense that is trying to build around Jordan Love, Franklin would be a great addition to the team.
Adonai Mitchell (Detroit Lions)
Here is where I would put an eyeball emoji if I could. The Lions showed us last year that they are not against shocking us in the draft. AD Mitchell could come in there and be a WR2 option and be what they were hoping Jameson Williams could have been. With his absolute mitts for hands, 4.35 speed, and elite ball tracking ability, Mitchell is what that offense is missing.
Xavier Legette New (Orleans Saints)
The Saints could use a big physical bully ball type WR on the outside and Legette fills that need. Even with his large frame, Legette possesses explosive athleticism, posting elite numbers in the broad jump, vertical jump and 40 time at the combine. New Orleans was 18th in red zone success in 2023, a jump ball receiver like Legette could certainly assist in that area. This is a sneaky good spot in my opinion and would make me think about possibly drafting him in the 2nd round of my rookie draft.
Roman Wilson (Atlanta Falcons)
The Falcons need another WR to pair along with Drake London. They will also more than likely have a new QB under center and should be looking to give them as many weapons as possible. The Senior Bowl standout excels as a route runner and has secure hands. Could be the perfect slot option for the offense.
Ricky Pearsall (Carolina Panthers)
This team needs to give Bryce Young some weapons immediately if not sooner. Pearsall lined up everywhere for the Florida Gators (58% in the slot, 41% out wide for his career) that type of versatility would be a welcomed sight on a lackluster Panthers offense. Add in his secure hands, he could quickly become Young’s go to target in 2024.
