In the most recent episode of The Dynasty Dogs, Alex Crowe and I did a way too early start up draft with 2025 rookies included! In this article, I will be breaking down some of the best picks of each round to help you prepare for this offseason! While I liked my draft, I chose to stay away from choosing any of my picks (even though I wanted to hype up my Cam Ward pick). You can listen to it here!
- QB Lamar Jackson (pick 1.4) – in my opinion, you can make a case for him to be the 1.01 in SF start-up drafts so getting him at 4 to me is a steal. Since 2021, Lamar has been a top 7 QB in PPG and at 28 years of age, I expect this to continue for a few more years.
- TE Brock Bowers (pick 2.6) – the rookie phenom finished as TE1 in total points and TE3 in PPG. I expect Bowers will more than likely have a QB upgrade in 2025 which means he could be in store for another top-end finish.
- QB Kyler Murray (pick 3.11) – to get a dual threat QB who finished as a top 10 last season as the 13th QB off the board feels too good to be true. I expect the Cardinals to add another weapon in the off-season.
- WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (pick 4.10) – the 2nd year break out happened and JSN showed he can be the number 1 WR option in the Seahawks offense, JSN’s 100 receptions in 2024 were 7th best in the NFL, which is gold in PPR.
- WR Tee Higgins (pick 5.3) – the hottest name in free agency is going to get paid one way or another. The current rumor is that he will remain in Cincy, which hurts some, but he has shown he is capable of being a dominant WR alongside Chase.
- QB Dak Prescott (pick 6.12) – VALUE. This may not feel like it, but it is. A high-end QB2-low end QB1 as the 23rd QB taken to pair with Josh Allen is a scary combo.
- WR Terry McLaurin (pick 7.5) – the connection between Daniels and Terry was strong in year 1 and expect that to continue in year 2 even if they bring in another weapon. 13 receiving TDs was the 2nd most in the league and helped McLaurin finish as WR7 on the year.
- TE Colston Loveland (pick 8.1) – Loveland profiles as a really good pass-catching TE in the NFL, so the gamble here feels positive. I expect him to move up a couple of rounds after the NFL draft.
- RB David Montgomery (pick 9.10) – a consistent RB2 and a player you can plug into your lineups and feel comfortable about this late is how you win drafts. The 27-year-old still is going to be the “Knuckles” in this Lions offense.
- RB Chubba Hubbard (pick 10.3) – the ADP has not caught up yet. He should have probably gone earlier. During his 1,195yd rush yd and 45 catch season, Hubbard got PAID He is now the RB1 on that team for the foreseeable future.
- WR Jakobi Meyers (pick 11.1) – you want a guy that you could plug into your flex or need an injury savior? Meyers is your guy. All top 30 finishes since 2021 and has averaged more than 11pts per game each of those years, you’re too low on him.
- WR Xavier Restrepo (pick 12.7) – if you have followed me for a bit, you would know I am big fan of Restrepo’s game. We have no draft capital or landing spot yet, but an NFL team is going to get a WR that knows how to get open quick and can make highlight reel catches.
