PRO’S

Jahmyr Gibbs possesses great contact balance. He is lightning quick and eats up space in a hurry. Gibbs is a complete mismatch for LBs when running routes out of the backfield. He is a natural hands catcher. Gibbs understands he’s at a disadvantage vs interior defenders(DL/LBs) and does a good job of relying on last second cuts to make defenders miss inside the hash marks rather than trying to run through tackles. Gibbs shows good awareness against Texas, his route is covered in the endzone and the QB is scrambling, breaks off his route, and finds a hole in the secondary. Good footwork to step over fallen defenders in the backfield against Utah St., 1st QTR.

CON’S

5’11”, 200 lbs seems generous, I expect he will come in smaller than that at the combine. Gibbs whiffs on the blitzing LB Vs. Texas, with the LB crossing his face. Gibbs shows the willingness to run inside but he struggles due to his lack of size/power. A few concentration drops against LSU, 2022.

OVERALL

Jahmyr Gibbs is an offensive weapon whom any offensive coordinator will be happy to work into their game plan. Gibbs is best suited in a zone scheme rushing attack, this will allow him to find space rather than run head first into the hole which I think better suits his play style. Scouts and GMs will appreciate Gibbs transferring from Georgia Tech to Alabama in his last season. He has proven he can play at the biggest stage in college football and not drop off in production.
